~ March, 2012 ~

 

Dear Friends in Christ,
        We have had a lot to praise God for this month so I'll get right to the good stuff.  We ended February with $5000.00 in our parsonage fund and our goal was $12000.00.  That was $9000.00 down payment and $3000.00 for utility hookup.  On Sunday March 4th we had a "Friend Day" at Highway MBC and we voted to use all the offerings for that day to go toward the parsonage fund.  God blessed us with a total offering on March 4th of $4376.37!  That was enough to finish our down payment.  Our sending church, Maple Springs MBC, sent us the remaining $3000.00.  So we are pleased to report the mobile home has been purchased, the utilities are completed and the home is in the process of being set.  Thanks to God and His people.  I would like to add a special note, of the $9000.00 for the down payment over $6000.00 of it came from the people at Highway MBC.  I continue to be impressed with the spiritual growth of the people here at Highway MBC.  Also a special thank you to Bro. David Phil!
 lips for his work and the use of his equipment.
        As we planned for our "Friend Day" on March 4th I encouraged the people at church to invite their friends.  We had some special cards printed up and handed out about 250 "Friend Day" cards.  Once again I was impressed by the efforts of these people.  We had 93 for Sunday School and 132 for Worship service on "Friend Day".  Needless to say, I was stunned by the full house.  Our numbers have increased since March 4th and God has continued to bless our mission work.  Since March 4th we have consistently ran in the 60's.  We have had to purchase more gravel to increase the size of our parking area.
